Dedicated to my wonderful friends and traditional artists, Jas Pili and from Bangalore, Madhu, who loves Hanuman, and another friend of mine from Hyderabad, Pavan. This is for you all. Hugs!
Hanuman, is a friend and close associate of Rama in the ancient mythological epic 'The Ramayana' This is the part of the story when Hanuman was told to bring a herb from a distant mountain. He flies to that far off place and tries finds it hard to search for a small medicinal herb on a mountain/hill. So, the mighty Hanuman lifts the whole mountain and brings it to Rama and Laxmana, where Laxmana was injured badly in a war. This herb is then found on the hill that Hanuman brought and used for Laxmana's recovery.
Inspirational characters to do this sketch are: Hanuman himself, Planet of the apes, Hulk, Chimpanzees, Gorillas, Monkeys and Human beings.
And lastly, Monkeys are an endangered species. And Gorillas are facing threat with the rise of mobile use around the world. I love monkeys specially for everything that they are, and the fun I had playing and watching them play since my childhood, and hence with these few lines I want to imply the seriousness that these cute creatures are facing because of our lifestyle.
whoah, this is so good...
the drawings (i like the powerful expression/look of Hanuman), the lighting and the simplicity of colours... as well as the story you created for it. did you invented it yourself?
and most of all, for dedicating it to your friends, such a nice gesture, Rama

Jass!!!!!
The story of Hanuman bringing the hill for injured Laxman, is there already in the epic. I just tried drawing that part of it. Loved it while drawing. Coincidentally, or funnily your recent deviation is a painting of a monkey too.(monkey business ).
